Argentine Tango

Argentine Tango is a social dance, orginating in Argentina. It is born from an embrace, and demand that two move as one. It is a dance of trust and confidence, of acceptance, hard work and great joys. 

A dance in which the music demands you to dance, and the dance demands for you to change partners, pushing the limits of your comfort, all within a comfortable environment. 

The Auroville Tango group is a very mixed entity, ages 12-70+, from all sorts of backgrounds within Auroville and without.

Argentine Tango is a dance of beauty and elegance, in which each one of us has to bring the very best of ourselves. It becomes an occasion to dress up and smell good and share moments with individuals very different from ourselves.

Every year in March a Tango festival is held in Auroville which brings to the country high level professional teachers and into the city over 100 dancers from all over India and abroad.
